The Color Challenge on Splitcoast this week called for Taken With Teal, Cool Caribbean and Marigold Morning. There was also a special request with the challenge–make and send your card to Shane, a little boy with leukemia whose only wish is to receive 350,000 birthday cards by his birthday on May 30th. I thought the pick-up truck from Loads of Love with the little guy stamped in the front seat would be an appropriate card for this special little boy. The Houndstooth background was stamped in VersaMark ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. The little tab on the side was made with the Key Tag Punch and actually pulls out. I made a track on the backside of the truck panel with several Stampin’ Dimensionals so that the tab would pull out straight. I also secured some Linen Thread to the left side of the tab and then to the backside of the truck panel so that the tab wouldn’t pull out all the way, but stops where you see it depicted in the photo (please click on the photo to see the finer details). I truly hope that Shane gets his wish!

What a great card for Shane! Any little boy would love it! As usual your layout and watercoloring are impeccable and your attention to all the details (creating a tab track on back!!!) is unbelievable!
This is so cute and I love how you balanced the use of the three colors! I need to make a card for Shane too – it’s such a small thing to do for such a sweet little person who wants it so much. TFS!
Oh my gosh…this is adorable. The colors look terrific together. Your coloring looks awesome, and I love the stitching and piercing. He will love the way you did the sentiment as well. Wonderful!!
Terrific creation!

This is an adorable card! Shane will love it! I had my 5th graders make him a card. They also got their parents and siblings to participate and I ended up mailing a total of 66 cards to him! Hope he reaches his goal!
Seriously Yvette, can you make an ugly card? NO! Everything you make is jaw dropping gorgeous. I need a coloring lesson. 🙂 You are just AWESOME at it. WOWIE!
WOw, this is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Love it love it love it!
This is so great Yvette! I love the tag and the paper piercing for the truck to ‘drive’ on. Shane’s going to LOVE it.
Oh, this is amazing, this could be the card that converts me to this set. Your cutting out is amazing and the colors are fantastic, I know it was a color challenge, but the way you have mixed the colors is stunning. Wonderful card.
Such a sweet and adorable card that Shane is sure to LOVE!!
This card is awesome! What great coloring …I wish I had this set
This is ideal for Shane and you did a wonderful job combining these colors! It’s nice to see Houndtooth in use again, too. I surely do hope Shane gets his wish!
Hi Yvette, What a great card you have made and with one of my ‘old’ favourite stamp sets. Those colours work so well together.
Love your vivid color combinations. This is just so appealing.

First off this card is so darling. I am always in awe of your w/c skills … so amazing. Second I just saw over on SCS you’re one of the new Dirty Dozen. MAJOR CONGRATULATIONS!!! No one deserves it more — you have lots of talent. I love the creations you’ve posted.
Congrats,
Sarah
Woo Hoo! Congrats to you!!! I said to myself just last night, ‘Haven’t seen much of you around – I bet she’s a new DD!!!” I was so excited to wake up today and see that I was right! I haven’t had much time to look at the DD gallery yet but I can’t wait!!!
