Today on Memorial Day, I’ve been thinking about my grandparents who have since passed away, but were a tremendous influence in my life after my parents divorced when I was a teenager. My grandparents made sure that my mother, two brothers and I were always taken care of — that we had food and clothes and, most importantly, a godly heritage. I love them and miss them very much!
To create the striped, “flag” background, I embossed a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock with the Stripes embossing folder. I then cut eight strips of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3/16″ x 5-1/4″, sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink and then attached them to the “valleys” of the embossed, striped piece. Then it was just a matter of die cutting this piece with the Ovals Collection Framelits Die that measures 3-1/8″ x 4″. All edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink.
